ABOUT THE GAME
About Classic Solitaire
Classic Solitaire is a free online Klondike card game played with 52 cards. The seven tableau columns hold face-up cards and hidden cards underneath. Arrange alternating-color runs to uncover those hidden cards, then build four same-suit foundations starting with the Aces. This player includes Draw 1 and Draw 3 settings, hints, undo and theme controls.
THE BASICS
How to play
Tap or drag a card or a face-up run onto a card one rank higher with the opposite color. Move available Aces to the foundations and add cards of the same suit in ascending order to King. Only a King or a run headed by a King can fill an empty tableau column. Draw from the stock when needed, and choose Draw 1 or Draw 3 in Settings.
Tips for Classic Solitaire
- Look for moves that reveal a hidden tableau card before moving a visible card merely to rearrange a column.
- Check the foundations and tableau after drawing from the stock. A newly available card may open a previously blocked move.
Controls and screen layout
This player uses a portrait layout. Use Full screen after starting if you need more space. Follow any device-specific controls shown inside the game.
Classic Solitaire questions
Is Classic Solitaire the same as Klondike?
Yes. This Classic Solitaire player uses Klondike rules: seven tableau columns, alternating-color descending runs and four same-suit foundations built from Ace to King.
How do I win Classic Solitaire?
Move all 52 cards into the four foundations in suit order from Ace to King. Uncover hidden tableau cards by moving the face-up cards above them.
What card can fill an empty column?
A King can fill an empty tableau column. You can also move a valid face-up run when the top card of that run is a King.
Can I choose Draw 1 or Draw 3?
Yes. Use the drawing-mode setting inside the game. Draw 1 reveals a single stock card; Draw 3 reveals a group with only its top waste card immediately playable.
Is Classic Solitaire free to play without an app?
Yes. Select Play now to load this free browser game. No app installation or PlayVello account is required; the initial load downloads game assets.
